Your information

Privacy policy

Effective October 2, 2026 · Last updated October 2, 2026

This policy explains how OliAug, LLC ("OliAug," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information in Long Time, No Clue (the "app"), a private memory assistant that helps you remember the people you meet, what they told you, plans, places and things to follow up on. It also explains your rights, including rights under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA").

The short version

1. Who we are

OliAug, LLC, a company organized in the United States, provides the app and is the controller (for GDPR) and the business (for the CCPA) responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at info@oliaug.com. Our postal address is available on request.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

Information from your device, with your permission

The app asks before using each of these, and you can change your choice at any time in iPhone Settings.

Information collected automatically

We do not use third-party advertising, analytics or tracking software in the app, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

3. Information about other people

The app's purpose is to help you remember people in your life, so your memories will often contain information about others, such as names, family members, events in their lives, and details they shared with you. Please only save information you have a right to record, and use the app for your own personal relationships.

We process this information only to provide the app to you. It is visible only in your account. We do not contact the people you mention, combine what different users save about the same person, build profiles of them across accounts, or sell or share their information. Because the information is entered by you and we generally cannot identify these individuals, it is not practical for us to notify each of them individually. If someone believes information about them is held in the app, they can contact us at info@oliaug.com and we will help as far as we reasonably can, which may include asking the account holder to review or remove it.

Some memories may include sensitive details (for example about someone's health). We process such details only because you chose to save them, solely to provide the service to you, and you can edit or delete them at any time.

4. How we use information

We use personal information to:

We do not use your memories to train AI models, and we do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

5. AI processing

AI processing is essential to the app, and the app asks for your explicit agreement before any of your content is sent for AI processing. When you agree:

OpenAI processes this data as our service provider under its API terms and data processing addendum. Under those terms, data sent through the API is not used to train OpenAI's models, and OpenAI may retain inputs and outputs for up to 30 days to provide the service and detect abuse before deleting them, unless it is legally required to keep them longer. Results are returned to us and saved in your account.

You can withdraw AI consent at any time in Settings › Your profile and permissions. Withdrawing stops future AI requests. It does not undo requests already made, and the app's main features need AI processing to work. You can still export your data or delete your account.

6. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with the service providers below, who process it on our behalf under contracts that limit how they may use it, and in the limited situations described after them.

Apple also provides the App Store, TestFlight, Siri and Shortcuts, maps display and Face ID under Apple's own privacy policy. If you choose "search the web for a photo," the app opens Google search in your browser, and Google's privacy policy applies to that search.

We may also disclose information: (a) if required by law, legal process or a valid government request; (b) to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, the public or OliAug; (c) as part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to this policy's protections; or (d) with your direction or consent.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the past 12 months.

7. International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our providers process data in the United States and, for place search, the United Kingdom. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, your information will be transferred to the United States. We rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK Addendum where applicable) and, where a recipient is certified, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions. You may request more information about these safeguards by contacting us.

8. How long we keep information

InformationHow long
Account, profile, memories, people, places, follow-ups and saved recordingsUntil you delete them or delete your account. "Delete the words" removes a memory's text, transcript and recording while keeping what was learned.
Processing records for finished or failed recordings30 days after processing ends (the memory itself stays until you delete it)
AI usage and cost records180 days
Usage counters for fair-use limits12 months
Place search cacheUntil the cached entry expires
Optional diagnosticsWhile diagnostics are on, and deleted with your account
Support emails and bug reportsAs long as needed to resolve the issue, then no longer than 24 months
Data held by OpenAI for abuse monitoringUp to 30 days, as described above
Subscription and purchase records (with us and RevenueCat)While you have an account. Deleted when you delete your account, except where tax or accounting law requires us to keep transaction records. Apple keeps its own payment records under Apple's privacy policy.
Sign in with Apple tokenUntil you delete your account, when we revoke it with Apple and delete it

Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Apple bills subscriptions, so cancel yours first in the app (Settings › Your plan › Manage subscription) or in your iPhone's Settings › your name › Subscriptions.

When you delete your account, we delete your account data and stored files, delete your subscription records from RevenueCat, and revoke Sign in with Apple if you used it. Copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period until they are overwritten, and we may keep information where the law requires it.

9. Security

Your data is separated from other users' data by account-level access controls enforced in our database, transmitted over encrypted connections, and stored with our hosting provider's encryption at rest. You can add App lock with Face ID, and widgets and lock-screen notifications never show people's names. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us promptly about any suspected unauthorized access.

10. Your choices and controls

Anyone can, at any time, in the app:

11. EU and UK privacy rights

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, the following applies.

Legal bases

PurposeLegal basis

AI processing by OpenAI, location, calendar, contacts, photos, notifications and optional diagnosticsYour consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time without affecting earlier processing
Special categories of data you choose to include in memories (for example health details)Your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)), given when you agree to AI processing and choose to save that content
Security, fraud and abuse prevention, fair-use limits and service reliabilityOur legitimate interests in operating a safe, reliable service (Art. 6(1)(f))

Providing an email address and password is necessary to create an account. Other information is optional, but some features will not work without it.

Where your memories include information about other people that you keep for purely personal or household purposes, your own use is generally outside the GDPR. We process that information as described in section 3. Information about people mentioned in memories is obtained from the account holder. Notifying each person individually is generally impossible or would involve disproportionate effort (Art. 14(5)(b)), so we make this policy publicly available instead.

Your rights

You have the right to: access your personal information; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests; receive your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). We will respond within one month, which may be extended by two further months for complex requests, in which case we will tell you.

To exercise these rights, use the in-app tools in section 10 or email info@oliaug.com. We may need to verify your identity, usually by confirming the request from your account email address.

We do not engage in targeted advertising, sales or such profiling. To exercise your rights, email info@oliaug.com. 14. Children

The app is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old to use it, or at least 16 in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland (or the older age required where you live). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

15. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We do not sell or share personal information or track you across other services, so browser "Do Not Track" signals do not change how the app works. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal received on our website as a valid request to opt out of sale or sharing.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. If changes are material, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect, and ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
